KUCHING, July 15: Only eateries with both operators and workers who have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccines can resume dining-in services from tomorrow (July 16) onwards.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) announced this today after having reviewed and fine-tuned the standard operating procedures (SOP) under Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) for the food and beverage sector.

In its daily update on the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak, SDMC stated that eatery premises will be allowed to resume dining-in services effective July 16, but subjected to additional conditions stipulated under the SOP for Phase 2 of the NRP.

SDMC also warned all sectors of economy which have been permitted to operate to strictly comply with the SOPs being enforced as the authorities will not hesitate to take actions against any violators.

Food operators who flout the SOPs will be ordered to close immediately for 14 days if a Covid-19 positive case emerges in their premises.

Operators or premises owners will also have to bear the costs for health screening and sanitising of their premises.

Apart from that, operators and workers will also be issued with a compound.
