KUCHING, June 12: Customers are complaining about having to queue and maintain social distancing outside in the hot sun in order to get into the Kenyalang Park Post Office.

Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Youth secretary-general Milton Foo visited the premises after receiving public complaints about this matter today.

The branch manager Dorothy Sunyan told Foo that customers were not allowed to sit in the waiting lobby inside the building due to the standard operating procedure (SOP) which caused a long queue outside.

He also learnt that the post office had, in fact, rented a canopy for people to wait under shelter.

“However, the rental had expired on Wednesday and as such, the canopy had been removed.

“But the post office has already ordered new canopy which they were planning to put up yesterday or today,” he told DayakDaily today.

Foo added that he will assist to get the canopy for the post office to use temporarily until the ones they have purchased arrived.
