Floods damage road, bridge in Serian villages; agencies to take action, assist affected residents

KUCHING, Jan 11: Relevant agencies will take immediate action and extend initial assistance to affected residents once disaster management authorities complete a full assessment of flood-damaged infrastructure at Kampung Krusen Kranji and Kampung Krusen Si-u in Serian.

In a press release, Serian MP Dato’ Sri Richard Riot Jaem conducted site visits today to assess post-flood damage in the affected areas, which had disrupted the villagers’ daily activities.

In Kampung Krusen Kranji, the main access road into the village has collapsed, and the village’s water supply was also affected as the main water pipeline supplying the area sustained damage.

Later on, at Kampung Krusen Si-u, he inspected the condition of the suspension bridge, which was severely damaged after its main support pillar bent due to the collapse of the riverbank. — DayakDaily
