MIRI, July 11: Kampung Long Bemang has been hit by flood which has also affected a health clinic and a primary school.
According to a report by the Long Bemang volunteer fire brigade, a total of 530 residents living in the 103-door longhouse have been affected by the flood.
The area has been hit by floods since July 9 around 8pm following heavy rain. However, the situation has remained under control and no evacuation has been needed thus far.
Information received as of 7.21 am today revealed the water level in the area was about 1.1 feet high and still rising.
Sarawak Energy Berhad shut off electricity supply into the sub-station serving the area on Monday (July 10) morning. — DayakDaily
