Flood evacuation centres opened in Kapit and Song to receive displaced residents

KUCHING, Sept 15: Two flood evacuation centres were opened to receive flood victims in Kapit and Song respectively area yesterday morning.

According to a statement from the state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, a total of 56 residents from Rh Philimon, Kampung Muhibah and Kampung Baru Kapit were evacuated to Kapit Stadium which had been set up as a temporary evacuation centre.


Meanwhile, a total of 122 residents consisting of 55 men, 44 women, 10 children and 13 senior citizens from Rh Kulleh were evacuated to Sk Nanga Embau.

As of press time, Bomba is continuing to monitor potential flood areas. — DayakDaily
