Five localities in Bintulu, Tatau, and Simunjan placed under EMCO

KUCHING, Aug 9: Five localities in Bintulu, Tatau, and Simunjan have been placed under Enhanced Movement Control Order by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

In Bintulu, the EMCO was enforced in the Bintulu Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba)’s quarters, and in a rented room above Six Two Street in No. 14, Colombia Shop House, starting yesterday (Aug 8) and will run until Aug 21.

In Tatau, the two-week EMCO is being implemented in Rh Ngumbang Anak Ajum in Nanga Sidang, and Rh Kilut Anak Along in Sungai Selitut along the Tatau-Bintulu road, from Aug 8 until Aug 20.


In Simunjan, the EMCO will be enforced in Kampung Blau starting tomorrow (Aug 10) until Aug 23.

In a statement, the committee also announced the extension of EMCO for Kampung Tanjung Tuang in Kota Samarahan, and the extension will start tomorrow (Aug 10) until Aug 23.

Meanwhile, SDMC also announced the end of EMCO today for 11 localities in Saratok, Beluru, Bintulu, Simunjan and Asajaya.

The localities include Rh Jamu in Peligong Sebetan of Saratok, Rh Pantan in Ulu Senulau of Saratok, Rh Suring Anak Jelian in Sg Bain Tinjar of Beluru, SK Sg Bain Tinjar of Beluru, Segala Rented House along Bintulu-Miri road of Bintulu, a rented room (above car wash shop) in Bintulu, and Kampung Kanchong Baru in Gedong of Simunjan.

The four other localities are in Asajaya, namely Kampung Semera Hilir, Semera Masjid, Semera Lot and Semera Hulu in Sadong Jaya. — DayakDaily
