KUCHING, April 23: Five districts in Malaysia were issued a thunderstorm warning, which is valid until 11pm tonight.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia), thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected in the following districts:
- Sarikei (Sarikei, Julau, and Meradong)
- Sibu (Sibu and Kanowit)
- Mukah (Tanjung Manis and Daro)
- Kapit (Song, Kapit, and Bukit Mabong)
- Limbang (Lawas)
The warning was issued at 8.30pm earlier tonight.
A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with rain intensity exceeding 20 mm/hour that is close to or expected to occur for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single issue. — DayakDaily
