Five Covid-19 clusters expired but four new EMCO areas declared

KUCHING, April 18: As five Covid-19 clusters in Sarawak have been declared expired, four new areas in Sarikei, Pakan and Kuching have been announced to be under Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the five clusters now inactive are the Jalan Green Cluster in Kuching, Buluh Pasi Cluster and Sungai Atap Cluster in Meradong, Sena Cluster in Miri and Begalak Cluster in Song.


“Today, Sarawak State Health Department has announced the expiration of five clusters after no new cases detected or reported in the last 28 days,” it said in the Covid-19 statement today.

With that, the committee concluded a total of 46 clusters still active in Sarawak where 14 of them recorded 59 new cases.

As for the areas under EMCO, Rh Tang at Teluk Batu Bintangor and Rh Naning at Sg Baji in Sarikei have already started its EMCO implementation since April 16 until 29.

SDMC also reported that Rh Juni at Ulu Pandanum, Pakan started its 14-day EMCO lockdown from April 17 to 30 while that of Taman Mesra Bako in Kuching will begin today until May 1. — DayakDaily
