Five companies under Senari Synergy Group sweep awards at CMIEA

KUCHING, Feb 24: Five companies under Senari Synergy Group were accorded the Chief Minister’s Industry Excellence Award (CMIEA) in recognition of overall industry excellence at the 3rd CMIEA 2021 ceremony officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg recently.

The five companies were Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd, the investment holding company and its subsidiaries, Senari Synergy Port Sdn Bhd, IOT Management Sdn Bhd (IOTM), Tanjung Manis Oil Terminal Sdn Bhd and Borneo Asphalt Sdn Bhd (BASB).

Senari Group managing director Jefri Ahmad Tambi emphasised that the Group is committed to upholding its core values of uncompromising integrity, exceptional performance and mutual respect in undertaking business functions.


“Under the exceptional performance category, the Group adopted and implemented outstanding business practices to create impactful and sustainable results. We continuously explore, identify and implement the transformative initiatives that will drive towards an effective and long-lasting change.

“This is a momentous achievement to us all. We drive to strengthen ourselves with relentless productivity initiatives to generate significant socio-economic impact to the development in Sarawak,” he said in a media statement today.

Jefri pointed out that the two-year pandemic period has urged the organisation to relook at the need for reset, reform, and rebound where an integrated and holistic approach to organisational performance were reviewed and deployed in their strategies, systems and processes.

“This includes our investment in digitisation and automation, continuously developing an engaged and motivated workforce as well as focusing on results in order for us to remain productive and relevant,” he added.

BASB general manager Zamsury Kushaili said the company is intensifying the applications of the latest technology in operations as well as embarking and implementing various performance improvement initiatives to ensure the best delivery of their products and services to their customers.

“This recognition will further inspire the organisation to continuously improve its performance to satisfy its customers,” he said in extending appreciation and thanks to the Sarawak Business Federation (SBF) and Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) for this meaningful recognition.

BASB, which commenced commercial operations on Jan 2, 2021, aspires to be the market leader in the supply of Bitumen in Sarawak by providing innovative products and solutions to serve the road construction players in Sarawak.

Hence, in addition to its Bitumen penetration grade 60/70, BASB also supply other Bitumen products such as Bitumen Class (170), Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB) PG76 and other grades of Bitumen and Bituminous products to cater for the unique and individualised needs of its customers.

IOTM head Ismail Julaihi pledged that the company will continue to elevate its performance to be and above the industry standards, whilst adhering strictly to their core values of uncompromising integrity and professionalism.

IOTM, a joint venture company of Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd, Petronas Dagangan Berhad and Shell Timur Sdn Bhd, was incorporated on March 19, 2001 to manage the Independent Oil Terminal located at Jalan Bako, a petroleum terminal owned by Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd.

It manages the receiving and storing of petroleum and its related products, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and biodiesel Palm Methyl Ester of the users, mainly Petronas, Shell and MyGaz, that are to be distributed to their customers.

The CMIEA is the highest state award adapted from the national-level Industry Excellence Award and granted to outstanding companies in the manufacturing or services industries. The award uses the internationally recognised Business Excellence Framework (BEF) as the benchmark criteria in the evaluation process, in search of world class business excellence. — DayakDaily
