Fisherman reported missing in Lawas found dead in Labuan

KUCHING, Aug 17: A man who was reported as missing while fishing along Tanjung Katong Sundar in Lawas was found in Labuan.

According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), at 9am today, a coordination briefing between the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and Bomba was held, whereby PDRM informed that they were still awaiting confirmation and report from their counterparts in Labuan regarding a body found along the Labuan coast.

The operation was concluded by the Lawas police after family members positively identified the victim, with post-mortem conducted at Labuan Hospital.

On Thursday (Aug 14), a man, Bindin Untung, came to the police station to lodge a report on the disappearance of the victim, 65-year-old Assan Osman, who was his father-in-law, after his boat was found drifting in the river. — DayakDaily
