KUCHING, Oct 1: The first day of the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS) and BUDI95 rollout in Sarawak went smoothly, with petrol stations in the city showing full compliance and system readiness during inspections yesterday (Sept 30).
Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Sarawak director Matthew Dominic Barin led visits to several petrol stations to monitor the implementation.
He said the checks were aimed at ensuring the SKPS system functioned as intended, in line with the government’s goal of channelling RON95 subsidies directly to registered companies.
The visits also provided an opportunity to engage with subsidy recipients using their MyKad under BUDI95.
“The inspection results found that petrol stations provided good cooperation and that the SKPS and BUDI95 transaction systems worked smoothly.
“KPDN will continue constant monitoring to ensure the programme is carried out in an orderly manner,” Matthew said in a statement posted on its social media.
He added that KPDN Sarawak will ensure all petrol stations comply with guidelines while assisting in providing accurate information to users.
The walkabout further allowed the ministry to gather feedback from both the public and petrol station operators on the system’s implementation.
Joining the visit were KPDN Sarawak deputy director Mohd Khairi Jamaludin, chief of operations sector Thomas Chua Kee Chuan, petrol station representatives, and ministry officials. — DayakDaily
