KUCHING, July 7: A family of seven in Taman Mesra, Jalan Bako, were left homeless after their house was razed by a fire yesterday (July 6).
According to a report from Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak operations centre, they received an emergency call from Malaysia Emergency Rescue Services (MERS) 999 regarding the incident at 9.55pm and deployed firefighters from Bomba Tabuan Jaya to the location.
“Upon arrival, firefighters found the house completely engulfed by fire. However, it said that Pasukan Bomba Sukarelawan (PBS—volunteer firefighters) Kampung Bako managed to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby houses,” it said.
It said the firefighters then controlled the fire and fully extinguished it at 10.33pm.
“All of the victims are safe without any injuries,” it added. — DayakDaily
