KUCHING, Nov 10: A longhouse in Semanok, along Jalan Pan Borneo Tatau-Bintulu, was completely destroyed in a fire this morning, with firefighters currently still bringing the blaze under control.
According to a statement from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), it received a distress call regarding the incident at 11.41am and immediately dispatched personnel from BBP Tatau and BBP Bintulu. Firefighting machinery arrived at the scene at 12.05pm, approximately 29 kilometres from the nearest station.

The longhouse, which was of non-permanent construction, was fully engulfed when the team arrived. Firefighters deployed two 300-foot streams, two mechanical pump jets, and utilised nearby open water sources to combat the flames.
The operation is ongoing, with firefighters focusing on complete extinguishment. No one was reported injured so far. – DayakDaily
