MIRI, Oct 4: Two houses in Kampung Padang Kerbau, Jalan Tanjung Batu here were consumed by fire while both houseowners are away in Brunei.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak promptly responded to a distress call at 12.55am today, dispatching a team of firefighters from Lopeng and Miri Central stations to the scene.
Their swift action successfully prevented the further spread of the flames, ultimately saving one of the homes from being completely engulfed in the blaze.
The neighbouring house, which was occupied by six adults, sustained minor damages as a result of the fire.
The firefighting operation concluded at 2.18am, during which the firefighters also ensured the safety and stability of the area. — DayakDaily
