MIRI, April 28: Thick plumes of black smoke were seen over Permyjaya’s go-kart race track earlier this scorching afternoon, signaling a blaze that caught the attention of residents in the Vista Perdana residential area.
The incident, that believed to have been occurred around 1.30pm, saw the tyre barriers lining the go-kart track on fire. Firefighters stationed at the Lutong fire station rushed to the scene to combat the flames.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
Efforts to contain the blaze were swiftly mobilised. As of press time, firefighting crews are at the scene working to prevent the blaze from spreading and ensure the safety of nearby residents. — DayakDaily
