File income tax returns latest by April 30 for manual method, May 15 for e-filing

KUCHING, April 26: The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) has issued a reminder to all taxpayers to file their income tax returns for the year 2022 as the end of April approaches.

The deadline for individuals who do not run a business to file their income tax returns manually is April 30, while those who choose to do e-filing can do it latest by May 15.

It elaborated further that taxpayers are advised to submit their respective income tax return forms and pay their income tax balance within the prescribed period to avoid any penalties and tax increases.

“Taxpayers are also advised to fill in accurate and up-to-date personal and banking information to help smoothen the tax refund process (if any),” it said. — DayakDaily
