KUCHING, Aug 28: Malaysian Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change (NRECC) Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad has praised the Sarawak government’s efforts in embarking on hydrogen economy.
He was speaking on the potential of green hydrogen as a fuel alternative at the Energy Transition Conference 2023, broadcast live by the Ministry’s official Facebook page earlier today.
Midway through his speech, he spontaneously acknowledged that Sarawak has already undertaken efforts to develop hydrogen economy.
“I would also like to commend the Sarawak government for taking the lead in developing the hydrogen economy and making enormous progress in this area,” he said.
Nik Nazmi also mentioned that the federal government has planned to roll out the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and the Hydrogen Economy and Technology Roadmap (HETR) later this year, which includes how the country can attract investments towards its production and ultimately pave the way for Malaysia to become a main export hub for green hydrogen by 2027. — DayakDaily
