KUCHING, July 14: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women aims to ensure the party gets a clean sweep of all the seats it contests in the coming 15th General Election (GE15).

PBB Women chief Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah said the wing’s election machinery will continue to work together with their counterparts in Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) component parties.

“The [wing] machinery is very important especially when we want to face elections.

“With that, I advise the members to continue to work hard like what we did in the previous State election because we want to ensure that we can win in all parliamentary constituencies,” she told reporters during a press conference held at PBB Headquarters, here today.

Meanwhile, Fatimah said PBB Women also wants to increase the number of women in the party.

According to her, out of 356,972 PBB members registered throughout Sarawak, currently only 171,570 are women.

“We have set an important agenda under our newly formed political bureau which is to increase the membership of PBB members, especially women,” she said.

Fatimah noted, PBB Women has also established four new focus areas for the 2022-2025 term, namely the political bureau, economic bureau, welfare and social bureau, and youth 1828 bureau.

She said the establishment of these bureaus reflects PBB Women’s emphasis for the 2022-2025 term.

“The election of leaders and members has also been held and they will conduct a meeting after this to plan programmes that will be implemented under their respective bureaus,” she added. — DayakDaily
