KUCHING, Nov 14: The Ministry of Women, Childhood, and Community Wellbeing Development (KPWK) has received 12 temporary document applications from stateless individuals as of Nov 10.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, KPWK Minister Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah said the Sarawak government has also issued the temporary document, since Nov 1, to Sarawakin children facing difficulties in obtaining their citizenship status.

“This gives them the opportunities to access education and health services in the State.

“It clearly shows the Sarawak Government’s commitment to taking care of the welfare of Sarawak’s multiracial community holistically and inclusively to preserve their well-being,” she said during a ‘leaders-with-the-people’ programme in Sadong Jaya on Sunday (Nov 13).
