KUCHING, Jan 30: A Primary 6 pupil and his 60-year-old uncle were killed in an accident after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a van on Jalan Sri Aman–Lingga in Sri Aman on Thursday (Jan 29).
According to TVS, Sri Aman police chief, Supt Dennis Bunyam, said that the accident occurred at around 6.20am.
Based on initial investigations, it was believed that the victims were on their way to SK Stumbin when the van driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with the oncoming motorcycle.
He said both victims were confirmed dead at the scene by medical officers, while the 77-year-old van driver did not sustain any injuries.
The bodies were sent to the forensic unit of the nearest hospital for further action.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
