Family of five injured in Miri-Bintulu coastal road crash

MIRI, Dec 4: Two people were seriously injured when a car they were travelling in collided head-on with a four-wheel-drive vehicle at KM37 Jalan Kpg Terahat along the Miri-Bintulu coastal road this morning.

According to Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the seriously injured were identified as car driver Ajis Duyong, 45, and front passenger Norjanah Echek, 31.

Another three victims aged 19, 12, and 13, in the same car suffered light injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle, Lau Siew Woo, 65, escaped without injuries.

Bomba received the emergency call at 7.46am. Upon arrival, firefighters found three victims still trapped inside the car while the rest had been taken out of the vehicles by passing motorists and nearby villagers. — DayakDaily
