IGAN, Oct 15: A family of five including a two-year-old toddler were able to escape from their burning home in Kampung Skrang this morning.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre said they received an emergency call at 2.10am.
They dispatched a team of firefighters from the nearest fire station which is in Mukah, located some 45km away.
The arriving crew reported that by the time they arrived, the double storey semi-permanent house was already 80 percent destroyed.
“A family of five aged between two and 70-years-old made it out safely.
“Firefighters carried out extinguishing operations using water from their fire truck and open water sources,” the statement said.
A cause of the fire is under investigation.— DayakDaily
