TATAU, Feb 5: A family narrowly escaped disaster when a sudden landslide struck their home, sending soil crashing into their living room and master bedroom at KM6 Jalan Sangan late last night (Feb 4).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Tatau responded to the emergency at 11.57pm, with the landslide affecting three homes in the area. A team of firefighters was swiftly deployed to the scene.
Fortunately, all 15 residents across four families were unharmed.
After assessing the situation, firefighters advised the residents to evacuate due to the danger posed by the landslide.
Three families, comprising 13 residents, relocated to a temporary shelter at SMK Tatau using their own vehicles, while a family of two sought refuge at a relative’s house. — DayakDaily
