KUCHING, Jan 6: Nearly four months after an express boat operator went missing after his boat collided with a cargo vessel at Tanjung Kunyit on September 9, 2025, the family of the victim has formally requested authorities to re-initiate search efforts.

According to a news report by TVS, the family met with Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government and Pelawan assemblyman Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee to appeal for a more comprehensive search effort.

Despite previous operations, the missing man and his boat have yet to be located, leaving families anxious and unsettled.

Tiang assured the family that he would convey their request to the relevant authorities and assist in coordinating the search. He emphasised that all actions must follow professional assessments and prioritise the safety of everyone involved.
