KUCHING, May 16: Petra Jaya MP Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof will defend his seat in the 15th General Election (GE15).
Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg confirmed this when attending a Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house organised by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Satok at Raia Hotel here today.
“We won 76 out of 82 seats in the last State election including Satok, Gedong, Samariang, Pantai Damai and others.
“Thus, we must remain united because in the upcoming general election, we (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) will field our candidates in all 31 parliamentary seats. (This is) so that Fadillah will win big.
“Fadillah is confirmed (to contest) and we will continue our efforts to make Sarawak a State whicj can contribute to political stability in the country,” he said.
Abang Johari who is also the GPS chairman further said that Malaysia has gone through political instability which had seen a change of several prime ministers in the last three years.
“For the sake of our country, we must support the current Prime Minister Dato Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob so that our country is stable.
“In the upcoming general election, our job is to assist them in stabilising the country’s stability and governance. Thus, we must have a strong voice through GPS. We must win 31 seats, if possible. This is our way of helping the country,” he added.
Also present at the event were Fadillah and Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki. — DayakDaily
