KUCHING, March 27: The government is focusing on Malaysia’s economic and financial recovery, including public health and assisting the rakyat, says Senior Works Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof.
Fadillah, who is also the Petra Jaya MP, said Malaysia is currently facing various challenges such as health issues or hospital conditions which need to be improved due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“If the country has a strong financial stand, it would enable the government to help the people who are burdened by the current crisis, including the Russia-Ukraine crisis,” he said after attending the ’Back 2 School’ programme held at Kampung Samariang Baru Fasa 3 here today.
Fadillah said this when asked by reporters to comment on rumours that the Sarawak State Election would be re-held.
He noted the world is facing rising prices of goods after the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted supply chains involving raw materials.
He also noted the possibility of another global crisis due to the tension between Russia and Ukraine.
“So I think we need to focus on these more important issues than the election. But even if it happens, we will be prepared,” he added. — DayakDaily
