KUCHING, Jan 16: A factory at Jalan Bintawa Tengah was partly damaged when a fire broke out this afternoon.
No injuries were reported as the factory was reportedly non-operational for a long time.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue (Bomba) operations centre in a statement said they received an emergency call from MERS 999 at 12.41pm that there was a fire at Sagasonic Industries Sdn Bhd.
Bomba operations commander PPgB Fazly Ibrahim said 13 firefighters from the Tabuan Jaya and Padungan stations were involved in the operation.
He disclosed that it was estimated 20 per cent or 300 ft x 100 ft of the premises was damaged in the incident.
The cause of the fire is being investigated. — DayakDaily
