Ex-TYT in Bintulu for PDP’s Chinese New Year open house

BINTULU, Feb 17: Former Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abang Muhammad Salahuddin Abang Barieng and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Hajjah Norkiah, are in Bintulu for the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP)’s Chinese New Year open house at Bintulu Civic Centre this morning.

Nearly 3,000 people thronged the open house.


Accompanying the couple were Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip, Assistant Minister for Local Government Datu Dr Penguang Manggil and Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Youth chief Michael Tiang.

Upon arrival at the event venue at 10am, the TYT’s entourage was greeted by PDP president Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, complete with lion dances.

Initially, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife, Datin Patinggi Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang, were supposed to attend the event but their visit had to be cancelled due to other matters. — DayakDaily
