KUCHING, Nov 16: Seven houses and a furniture store were affected by a fire that broke out at Kampung Wireless in Miri on Saturday (Nov 15).
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 5.35pm, and firefighters from the Miri station were deployed, with assistance from the Lopeng and Lutong stations.

Upon arrival, it was noted that the store and four houses were destroyed, while three houses sustained damage of about 15 to 20 per cent as the fire spread from the other houses.
The operation was brought under control at 6.41pm and concluded around midnight.
No casualties were reported during the incident. — DayakDaily
