Missing boy’s body believed to have been dumped at Muara Tebas Wharf, police search underway

KUCHING, March 13: The body of missing boy Eric Chang Wei Jie is believed to have been dumped at the Muara Tebas Wharf by his caretaker and her husband.

Since 2pm today, a Kuching District Police crime investigation team has been at the site conducting their investigation.


Acting Kuching District Police Chief Supt Merbin Lisa was there at the scene to direct the investigation.

Meanwhile, marine police boats were despatched to conduct a search of the vicinity.

Eric, 4, was reported missing from Taman Riverview, Bintawa since March 7 while under the care of a friend of Eric’s mother, Dynasty Chang.

On March 11, four suspects including Dynasty were detained to assist the investigation, with the four reported to have accumulated 17 criminal records.

In relation to the case, the police have opened two investigation papers, namely a missing person case and a second case under Section 31(1)(1) of the Child Act 2001 for negligence and neglect of child care. — DayakDaily
