KUCHING, Feb 28: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has announced a dividend rate of 6.15 per cent for both conventional and Shariah savings for 2025.
This involves a payout of RM67.1 billion for the conventional savings and RM12.5 billion for Shariah savings, amounting to a total payout of RM79.6 billion.
In a report by The Edge, this is the second year where similar payout was provided for both savings categories, following a 6.3 per cent payout for 2024.
EPF chief executive officer, Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn, attributed the slightly lower dividend due to a weaker Malaysian market.
However, it was also noted that the EPF’s gross investment income rose 6.3 per cent year-on-year to RM79.15 billion, from RM74.46 billion a year earlier.
Also affecting the performance was the impact of a stronger ringgit on the EPF’s international portfolio, which has crossed the half-a-trillion ringgit mark to 38 per cent of its assets.
Its total assets of RM1.409 trillion were up 12.72 per cent from RM1.25 trillion a year ago. — DayakDaily
