KUCHING, Aug 21: The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has updated its EnterSarawak Guidelines to allow entry for essential services, official travelling and delivery transporters (essential goods) into Sarawak.

According to the newly updated guidelines released by SDMC on Aug 20, 2021, for essential services and official travelling into the State, applicants must complete their two doses of vaccination, submit their Negative Covid-19 rt-PCR test result, together with the letters of invitation from their company.

Apart from that, for those who wish to stay more than three days, they must also acquire the letter of approval to enter from SDMC, be subjected to the quarantine order and only allowed to be released if their swab test result is negative upon arrival besides taking another rt-PCR test after a week of their arrival.

For applicants who are staying less than three days and two nights, they will be exempted from quarantine order, while it is a must for those who are staying for more than three days.

Among the documents needed for submission are their return tickets for those staying less than three days as well as the flight itinerary, a copy of their identity card and police permit. Incomplete documentation will be rejected for entry into the State.

The committee also said for government officers, the exemption form to waive quarantine cost must be submitted and approved by the head of agencies, for consideration.

Meanwhile, for delivery transporters (essential goods) involving entry of more than three days from Brunei, the committee said an approval to cross border from the local Resident Office is required, especially in Miri and Limbang.

The applicants must also undergo a RTK-Antigen test conducted at the Brunei border (if border crossing) and will only be allowed to have their transit in Brunei on a one-day pass.

Other documentation required for delivery transporters are a negative Covid-19 rt-PCR test result (valid for 14 days), completing two doses of vaccination, digital certificate for completing two doses of vaccination, copy of identity card and passport, delivery letter from the company and an approved police permit.

Application under the delivery transporters (essential goods) will also be exempted from quarantine during transit and any incomplete submission of documentation will be rejected for entry. ā€” DayakDaily
