Meanwhile, the date for verification process on illegal immigrants will expire on Sept 30, 2024.

“There is no compromise in any application for extension of the period after this. Employers and their illegal workers must present themselves to the nearest JIM office for the purpose of completing the verification process as soon as possible in accordance with the current procedural instructions.

“Employers who have completed the verification process are urged to apply for the Approval in Principle (AP) for Hiring Non-Resident Workers and an Employment License from the Labour Department because it is a necessary document prior to obtaining a Visit Pass (Temporary Work) from the JIM,” he said in a statement today.

Gerawat also said the acquisition of Visit Pass will end on Dec 31, 2024.

“Therefore, employers should be aware that after that date, they will no longer be allowed to obtain a Visit Pass for illegal immigrants from the JIM.” — DayakDaily
