EMCO declared in Kampung Sebako in Lundu

KUCHING, Feb 5: Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) has been declared in Kampung Sebako in Lundu effective tomorrow (Feb 6) until Feb 19.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in a statement today, said that the committee has decided to implement a two-week EMCO in Kampung Sebako given the increasing number of Covid-19 positive cases in the area.

“The EMCO will take effect from Feb 6 as at 12.01am until Feb 19 as at 11.59pm,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, EMCO in Kampung Sungai Ud and Kampung Sungai Ud Hilir in Dalat, Mukah will be extended for another week until Feb 16.
The order will take effect from Feb 10 (12.01am) until Feb 16 (11.59pm).

These two villages in Dalat had been placed under two-week EMCO from Jan 27 until Feb 9 after the district recorded increasing Covid-19 cases.

Meanwhile, Sarawak reported four Covid-19 fatalities in Sibu and 178 new cases today with Sibu topping the list of daily infections at 67 cases, followed by Bintulu (24), Dalat (23), Kanowit (21), Kapit (10), Miri (6), Song (5), Samarahan (5), three each in Kuching and Matu, two each in Selangau, Sebauh, and Beluru and one each on Sarikei, Bau, Subis, Julau and Lawas.

This thus pushed the state tally of positive cases to 5,272 and the state death toll to 48. – DayakDaily
