EMCO at Taman Samarindah involves 12,000 residents

KOTA SAMARAHAN, Aug 17: A total of 12,000 residents from 2,450 families are currently under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in Taman Samarindah, Kota Samarahan from today until Aug 30.

The implementation of the EMCO will cover the housing areas from Lorong 1 until Lorong 27.

According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the EMCO was announced by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) yesterday (Aug 16).


“The EMCO was implemented following positive cases linked to the Bandar Riyal Cluster.

“Meanwhile, a survey found that the authorities were conducting road closure operations for the area,” it said in a statement today.

The official announcement from the Samarahan Division Information Department (Japen) is expected to be conducted tonight. — DayakDaily
