KUCHING, Nov 6: A supermarket staff and a tenant staff in Emart Batu Kawa Shopping Mall here are Covid-19 positive following the spread of the virus from the Wisma Saberkas Cluster.

Emart Batu Kawa Shopping Mall management said the two positive cases were detected from the collective test results on its employees and tenants.

In a previous statement by the management on Nov 4, it explained that two telco promoters from Wisma Saberkas, who were tested positive of Covid-19, had attended duty for a Digi Roadshow booth held at the shopping mall from Oct 30 to Nov 1.

Following this discovery, Emart Batu Kawa was immediately closed for a day for disinfection and sanitisation purposes and all relevant employees and business partners were sent for screening tests.

With that, the management said Emart Batu Kawa Shopping Mall would be closed down until further notice.

“Please rest assured that all our employees including tenants have been requested to undergo Covid-19 testing,” it said in an official statement yesterday (Nov 5), adding that another round of disinfection and sanitisation will be performed.
