MIRI, July 9: An elderly man has died after his Yamaha motorcycle skidded and veered off the road along Jalan Sena at Senadin, here, early this morning.
State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief, Supt Alexson Naga Chabu, said the rider has been identified as Tiong Ing Sing, 54, from Kampung Hilir, Kanowit.
He said the accident occurred at around 3.10am. The victim was riding alone on his way home from the city centre, when his motorcycle was believed to have gone out of control and crashed.
“Further investigation revealed that there was no crime element involved,” Alexson added.
The deceased was pronounced dead by medic personnel at the scene at 3.20am. The body has been taken to the Miri Hospital for post mortem.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act. — DayakDaily
