Elderly man injured in bag snatch attack

MIRI, Aug 22: An elderly man fell and sustained injuries when he was attacked by two bag snatchers while waiting at a bus stop nearby Pelita Tunku building here on Wednesday (Aug 21) morning.

During the 5am incident, sources said the attackers, armed with a knife, approached the victim and demanded that he handed over his sling bag.

However, the elderly man refused which prompted one of the thieves to snatch the bag.

A tug-of-war ensued between the trio and the victim fell to the ground during the struggle.


The attackers ran off with the bag, which contained RM250 cash and personal items.

A police report has been lodged that same morning.— DayakDaily
