KUCHING, Feb 7: A 69-year-old man was found unconscious in a locked car along Jalan Batu Kawa, Moyan-Malihah here today and was later confirmed dead at the scene.
A distress call was received at 12.16pm, prompting firefighters from BBP Petra Jaya to be deployed to the location, according to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba).
“The victim was identified as Bong Teck Onn. Firefighters discovered the victim inside a Perodua Axia with the doors locked from within and the engine still running,” said operations commander PBK I Pandi Seh in a statement today.
Using special equipment, the team forced open the car door to access the victim.
The Ministry of Health (KKM) personnel later confirmed that the man had died at the scene.
The deceased’s body was subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation. — DayakDaily
