KUCHING, Jan 30: Eight guest artists will be rocking at the Chap Goh Mei concert organised by the Kuching South City Council (MBKS), which will be happening on Saturday, Feb 4.
The concert will be held for the first time as part of the celebration to mark the 15th day following the Lunar New Year and will feature eight guest artists: Angeline, Vic, Han Xiiao Aii, Mingren, Faye, Rom, Drew2, Joseph N, as well as MyFM DJs Chris and Addy.
“The MBKS Chap Goh Mei concert will be an outdoor event so it will take place at the MBKS Park and will last approximately three hours (7.30pm to 10.30pm).
“There will be no seating available so that more people can come in to enjoy the concert, and we expect over 3,000 people to attend.
“However, if the weather is nice, people can sit at the surrounding compound area, and if the weather is bad, there is a roofed area provided, so it will be like a concert in the rain,” MBKS mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said today during the press conference on the MBKS Chap Goh Mei concert held at MBKS headquarters here.
According to him, all preparations appear to be proceeding smoothly, and all invited guest artists are expected to be in Kuching on Feb 2 and 3.
In addition, Wee revealed that Sarawak Tourism Federation (STF) and Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) will be organising an open house in conjunction with the Lunar New Year on the same day of the concert, but the event will take place during the day.
“The open house will be held on the MBKS grounds, which demonstrates that MBKS welcomes all festival activities, particularly the celebration of festivals in Sarawak.
“This is a public location, and everyone is welcome to use the facilities,” he added. — DayakDaily
