KUCHING, Dec 12: The Ministry of Education (MOE) will look into the alleged bullying case in a school which was raised by a student via a letter to Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

According to a report by New Straits Times, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the ministry would not compromise on the issue and will conceal the identity of the student to protect the child’s safety.

She commented that schools should be a safe space for pupils, and expressed hope that teachers will set a good example for students in terms of leadership as well as demonstrate care for their students.

She was referring to a photo of a letter shared by Anwar on his Facebook page yesterday, believed to be handwritten by a victim of bullying.

In the letter, the student claimed that he had been bullied by a group of people in the school and a teacher was being racist.

The student then appealed to the prime minister to address the issue and put an end to the situation.

Following this, Anwar, in the same Facebook post, urged MOE to expedite a probe into the alleged bullying case.

However, the post was taken down on the same day. — DayakDaily
