KUCHING, Sept 26: A fire broke out in an office room of the Sarawak Land and Survey Department Kuching Division at Jalan Badruddin here early this morning.
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 1.46am, and firefighters from the Batu Lintang and Padungan stations were deployed.
It was noted that the fire involved the land registration branch on the ground floor of the building.
The permanent structure office building, estimated at 40×40 square feet, sustained approximately 10 per cent damage due to water and smoke damage.
The cause of the fire and estimated losses are still under investigation.
No victims were reported, and the fire was extinguished by 2.59am.
The operation ended at 3.03am. — DayakDaily
