KUCHING, Feb 6: A fire has destroyed the Scouts Association of Malaysia Sarawak branch headquarters on Jalan Batu Lintang here this morning.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), no casualties or injuries were reported during the incident.
Bomba said they were notified of the incident at 5.57am, and firefighters from the Batu Lintang, Padungan, and Tabuan Jaya fire stations were dispatched to the scene.
“The fire engulfed a two-storey building belonging to the Scouts Association of Malaysia Sarawak branch, with the top floor being 80 per cent destroyed,” it said in a statement.
Bomba further reported that the firefighters extinguished the fire and brought it under control by 6.53am.
“The operation ended at 8.51am after the fire was completely extinguished. The cause of the fire and the losses incurred are still under investigation,” it added. — DayakDaily
