KUCHING, June 26: Three adjoining food shop lots at the commercial area near Batu Kawa Riverbank Park were damaged in an early morning fire today.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Batu Lintang, which was assisted by Kota Sentosa Station, responded to the emergency at 2.26am.
According to Bomba, the fire occurred at Shen Chen Wee’s Cafe and involved three connected food shop lots located on the ground floor of a two-storey shop building.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and managed to bring the blaze under control within minutes. The fire was fully extinguished using one delivery hose line and a TFT nozzle, with water supplied from the fire engine’s onboard tank.
Operations Commander PBK I Kana Tawi said the fire affected approximately 40 per cent of the premises, covering an estimated area of 50 by 40 square metres.
No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
After ensuring the fire was completely extinguished and the area was safe, the operation concluded at 3.04am. — DayakDaily
