KUCHING, March 27: Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) Sarawak is looking to establish a mobile veterinary team to further enhance the current reach of animal healthcare services.

According to DVS Sarawak director Datu Dr Adrian Susin Ambud, the objectives of the veterinary mobile team will be focused on providing vaccinations, animal neutering, and enforcement.

In the meantime, Susin said that the DVS is presently mobilising its existing staff to address immediate tasks which includes mass vaccinations, licensing, and neutering.

He said once the number of department staff has increased, it should be able to initiate the mobile veterinary team.

“With the staff addition, this (mobile veterinary team) can be formed. For now, our existing staff are deployed for the programmes,” said Susin when approached by reporters after the closing ceremony for ‘Action Plan to Curb Rabies 2024’ programme today.
