KUCHING, July 24: Two men were arrested after they attempted to sell stolen goods through a social media website on Thursday.
Following the arrest the duo, aged 26 and 29 years, were later brought to the police station.
According to Kuching District police chief ACP Awang Din, the police had received a report on the break-in that happened at a new house located at Jalan Semariang on July 22.
The victim’s house which was completed recently was broken into by the two suspects through the house’s rear entrance and a sink and a toilet bowl were believed to be stolen by the duo.
He said that the police personnel managed to track down the suspects and arrested them after they attempted to sell the stolen sink and toilet bowl through a social media website.
The two suspects were also tested positive for methamphetamine and will be investigated under the section 457 of the Penal Code.
Awang hoped the public will share information with the police to eradicate all the criminal activities besides urging them to adhere to the the law during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) to prevent the spread of Covid-19. -Dayak Daily
