KUCHING, Sept 8: The Dudong Service Centre will assist in the construction of new homes for five families in Kampung Sentosa, Sibu, who were affected by a fire on Sept 5.
Dudong assemblyman Dato Sri Tiong King Sing said the Centre will collaborate closely with the residents of Kampung Sentosa to expedite the rebuilding process.
“Following initial discussions, the Dudong Service Centre is committed to supporting the reconstruction of the wooden houses.
“Once we have the design plans and cost estimates, our Centre will provide the necessary manpower, construction materials, and funding to help these families recover as swiftly as possible,” he said in a statement today.
On Sept 5, two double-storey wooden houses on Lorong 6, Kampung Sentosa were destroyed by fire.
While there were no casualties, the blaze left 31 residents without homes. – DayakDaily
