KUCHING, Jan 24: Dudong assemblyman Dato Seri Tiong King Sing proposed the deepening of Rajang River and Igan River to prevent flash floods.
Tiong who is also Bintulu MP said the proposal has been laid out to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg during the latter’s official visit to Sibu on Saturday.
“It is time for serious attention to be given to help the people who have been plagued by floods for decades.
“Therefore, I will integrate the overall situation and gather all the detailed information and then report it to the chief minister,” he said in a statement yesterday. — DayakDaily
