DTI Semuja 3 Cluster records 4 additional Covid-19 cases as Sarawak logs 1,484 new cases

KUCHING, March 17: The DTI Semuja 3 Cluster in Serian recorded four additional Covid-19 cases as Sarawak reported 1,484 new cases.

Initially, the cluster which recorded 19 cases on March 10, followed by 48 cases on March 11, 12 cases on March 12, 9 cases on March 14, 11 cases on March 15 along with the four new cases reported today (March 17) now has a total of 103 cases linked to the cluster.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today said Kuching continues to top the list with 637 cases, followed by Miri (145), Bintulu (133) and Sibu (113).


Double-digit cases were also reported in Samarahan (90), Serian (60), Sarikei (40), Sri Aman (39), Bau (38), Betong (22), Limbang (19), Saratok (14), Kabong (13) Mukah (11) and Simunjan (10).

Other districts with confirmed cases are Kapit (9), Meradong (8), Lundu (8), Pakan (8), Lawas (7), Lubok Antu (7), Subis (7), Dalat (6), Tebedu (6) Matu (5), Telang Usan (5), Pusa (4), Marudi (4), Selangau (4), Tatau (3), Asajaya (2), Julau (2), Kanowit (2), Sebauh (1), Daro (1) and Song (1).

This brings the total cumulative number of Covid-19 cases reported in the State to 284,502.

Of the new cases reported today, three cases were under Category 5 with lung infections and require ventilator support, four cases under Category 4 with lung infections and require oxygen, whereas two cases are classified under Category 3 with lung infections.

Under Category 2, 1,009 cases were reported with mild symptoms, while 466 cases with no symptoms were classified under Category 1. — DayakDaily
