Drone operated by family spots missing 6yo boy with autism safe near riverbank in Batu Kawa

KUCHING, Aug 25: A six-year-old boy with autism, Enrique Bong Kai Shen, who had been reported missing since yesterday (Aug 24), was found safe near a riverbank about 200 metres from his home at Jalan Kim Chu Sin, Batu Kawa.

According to Padawan district police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, the boy was discovered at around 5.15pm today (Aug 25) following a Search and Rescue (SAR) operation mounted after he was reported missing at 4.15pm yesterday (Aug 24).

The child was spotted by a drone operated by his family near the riverbank and was quickly retrieved by rescue teams.

He was later referred to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further medical attention.

Police extended their gratitude to all SAR personnel involved as well as local residents who came forward to assist throughout the operation. — DayakDaily
